An article in this week’s New Yorker Magazine, Message In a Bottle, by John Colapinto, reports of David de Rothschild’s latest green venture to sail across the Pacific ocean in a boat made of plastic water bottles. While media loves paying attention to the good stewardship of people who have tons of money, like Mr. de Rothschild, heir to the Rothschild banking family of England, the news rarely shines on the underlings who have already done the deed. Rothschild’s “oceanic eco-crusade”, as Colapinto calls it, has already been conquered.
No need for your high-tech plastic bottle vessel and your crew of 25, Mr Rothschild. The real crusade began in the Inwood section of Manhattan, New York, in the hands of one skinny writer with a leaky pen. So, Mr de Rothschild, you can sit back and relax, no need for anymore nightmares about the fate of your green plastic yacht. Gather your friends around a big bowl of non-genetically modified popcorn and watch The Ark of Inwood, Urban Escape Vessel below. Take notes. And when you’re done, promote the shit out of aleakypen’s work. He already did the coffee cup thing too (see Happy To Serve You below), so don’t try to copycat that. Without further ado, the crusade is conquered, the message has been delivered, you can bank on it:

Love the demon vessel, but don’t really get the cup happenstance.
